The platform fee is included in the contractor's displayed hourly rate. If a contractor charges $100/hr, that's what you pay. The contractor receives $88 (after 12% commission). You're never charged extra on top of the quoted rate.
Rush Service automatically matches you with the highest-rated available contractor within 2 hours. The $300 fee is a flat platform fee on top of the contractor's hourly rate. If no contractor is available within 2 hours, you receive a full refund.
When you select a contractor, Stripe places a hold on your card for 1 hour at the contractor's rate. After the job is complete and both parties confirm, you're charged for actual hours worked (rounded up to the nearest hour, minimum 1 hour).
